# TexaGPS™ vs NMEA GPS Tether

The clearest difference is rating: NMEA GPS Tether at 5.0 against TexaGPS™'s 1.0. TexaGPS™'s advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (35% vs 25%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TexaGPS™ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and NMEA GPS Tether sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NMEA GPS Tether holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of TexaGPS™'s written reviews are positive against 25% of NMEA GPS Tether's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
