# Mi vs Defected

The clearest difference is rating: Defected at 5.0 against Mi's 3.7. Defected also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Mi's advantage is review sentiment (72% vs 33%) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Defected holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Mi's written reviews are positive against 33% of Defected's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mi ships an update every 2 months, Defected every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
