# Big Day vs Event Countdown

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Big Day at 71% against Event Countdown's 0%. Big Day also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 14 months) and ratings volume (81 vs 1). Event Countdown's advantage is price (Free vs $3.99) and rating (5.0 vs 4.0). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Event Countdown is free to download; Big Day costs $3.99 up front. Big Day sells 9 one-off in-app purchases and Event Countdown sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Event Countdown holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Big Day has 81 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Big Day's written reviews are positive against 0% of Event Countdown's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Big Day ships an update every 5 weeks, Event Countdown every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and June 3, 2026 respectively.
