# The JC App vs The Mint

The JC App and The Mint both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of The JC App's written reviews are positive against 64% of The Mint's. The JC App also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 18.6). The Mint's advantage is ratings volume (2K vs 7) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The JC App holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Mint has 2K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of The JC App's written reviews are positive against 64% of The Mint's.

The JC App ships an update every 2 months, The Mint every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
