# Countdown vs DateWidget

The clearest difference is rating: Countdown at 4.1 against DateWidget's 1.0. Countdown also leads on ratings volume (41 vs 1). DateWidget's advantage is price ($0.99 vs $1.99) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Countdown costs $1.99 and DateWidget $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Countdown holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown has 41 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Countdown ships an update every 2 months, DateWidget every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
