# Contacts Mover vs Export Contacts

The clearest difference is monetization model: Export Contacts at free with in-app purchases against Contacts Mover's subscription. Contacts Mover's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (2.7K vs 89). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Contacts Mover sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per year and Export Contacts sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Contacts Mover holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Contacts Mover has 2.7K ratings behind it against 89, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 83% of Contacts Mover's written reviews are positive against 70% of Export Contacts's.

Contacts Mover ships an update every 3 months, Export Contacts every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
