# 观察者网 vs 澎湃新闻HD

The clearest difference is ads: 观察者网 at none against 澎湃新闻HD's shown. 观察者网 also leads on review sentiment (48% vs 29%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). 澎湃新闻HD's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 观察者网 sells 19 one-off in-app purchases and 澎湃新闻HD sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

澎湃新闻HD holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 71 and 74 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of 观察者网's written reviews are positive against 29% of 澎湃新闻HD's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

观察者网 ships an update every 3 weeks, 澎湃新闻HD every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
