# RCM&E vs Custom Car Magazine

The clearest difference is rating: RCM&E at 4.6 against Custom Car Magazine's 1.0. RCM&E also leads on ratings volume (14 vs 1) and update cadence (every 8 months vs every 20 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RCM&E sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per 3 months and Custom Car Magazine sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RCM&E holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RCM&E has 14 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

RCM&E ships an update every 8 months, Custom Car Magazine every 20 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
