# Gerbes vs Hy

The clearest difference is rating: Gerbes at 4.7 against Hy's 4.2. Gerbes also leads on review sentiment (46% vs 13%). Hy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (20K vs 2.1K). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gerbes holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hy has 20K ratings behind it against 2.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 46% of Gerbes's written reviews are positive against 13% of Hy's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
