# ACT Math vs ACT Prep

The clearest difference is monetization model: ACT Math at free against ACT Prep's free with in-app purchases. ACT Math also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). ACT Prep's advantage is ratings volume (50 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ACT Math sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ACT Prep sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ACT Math holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ACT Prep has 50 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ACT Math ships an update every 11 months, ACT Prep every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
