# Sygic vs NaviMaps

The clearest difference is ads: NaviMaps at none against Sygic's shown. NaviMaps also leads on review sentiment (57% vs 41%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). Sygic's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (57K vs 208). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sygic sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $12.49 per 3 months and NaviMaps sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sygic holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sygic has 57K ratings behind it against 208, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Sygic's written reviews are positive against 57% of NaviMaps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sygic ships an update weekly, NaviMaps every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
