# Location Alert vs Transperth

The clearest difference is rating: Transperth at 2.6 against Location Alert's 1.0. Location Alert's advantage is review sentiment (25% vs 16%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.1). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Transperth holds the better App Store score, 2.6 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Location Alert's written reviews are positive against 16% of Transperth's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Location Alert ships an update every 3 months, Transperth every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
