# The Blackpool Gazette vs Teesside Live

The clearest difference is monetization model: Teesside Live at freemium against The Blackpool Gazette's subscription. Teesside Live also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). The Blackpool Gazette's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Blackpool Gazette sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Teesside Live sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Teesside Live holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 15 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of The Blackpool Gazette's written reviews are positive against 40% of Teesside Live's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Blackpool Gazette ships an update every 5 months, Teesside Live monthly. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
