# READING MAGIC 5 vs WordsTrain

The clearest difference is update cadence: WordsTrain at monthly against READING MAGIC 5's every 11 months. WordsTrain also leads on ratings volume (114 vs 11). READING MAGIC 5's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.4). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. READING MAGIC 5 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and WordsTrain sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

READING MAGIC 5 holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WordsTrain has 114 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of READING MAGIC 5's written reviews are positive against 97% of WordsTrain's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

READING MAGIC 5 ships an update every 11 months, WordsTrain monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
