# Buttercam vs 快影

The clearest difference is monetization model: 快影 at free with in-app purchases against Buttercam's subscription. 快影 also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks) and review sentiment (77% vs 48%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Buttercam sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and 快影 sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

快影 holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 快影 has 2.6M ratings behind it against 1.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 48% of Buttercam's written reviews are positive against 77% of 快影's.

Buttercam ships an update every 3 weeks, 快影 every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
