# BambooHR vs Personal Protective App

The clearest difference is rating: BambooHR at 4.7 against Personal Protective App's 2.9. BambooHR also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (13K vs 26). Personal Protective App's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and review sentiment (50% vs 26%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BambooHR holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BambooHR has 13K ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of BambooHR's written reviews are positive against 50% of Personal Protective App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BambooHR ships an update every 2 weeks, Personal Protective App every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
