# The Sheffield Star Newspaper vs Devon Live

The clearest difference is rating: Devon Live at 5.0 against The Sheffield Star Newspaper's 4.0. Devon Live also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months). The Sheffield Star Newspaper's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (46% vs 31%). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Sheffield Star Newspaper sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.99 per month and Devon Live sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Devon Live holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of The Sheffield Star Newspaper's written reviews are positive against 31% of Devon Live's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Sheffield Star Newspaper ships an update every 5 months, Devon Live monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
