# The Sheffield Star Newspaper vs Teesside Live

The clearest difference is rating: Teesside Live at 4.7 against The Sheffield Star Newspaper's 4.0. Teesside Live also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months). The Sheffield Star Newspaper's advantage is ads (none vs shown). Both are free to download. The Sheffield Star Newspaper sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.99 per month and Teesside Live sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Teesside Live holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 15 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of The Sheffield Star Newspaper's written reviews are positive against 40% of Teesside Live's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
