# Sony LIV vs SkillBox

The clearest difference is rating: Sony LIV at 4.2 against SkillBox's 2.7. Sony LIV also leads on ratings volume (781 vs 3) and device support (4 vs 2). SkillBox's advantage is review sentiment (73% vs 36%) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, update cadence and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sony LIV sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per year. SkillBox asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sony LIV holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sony LIV has 781 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of Sony LIV's written reviews are positive against 73% of SkillBox's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sony LIV ships an update every 6 days, SkillBox every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
