# Sony LIV vs WAVES PB

The clearest difference is rating: Sony LIV at 4.2 against WAVES PB's 3.7. Sony LIV also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs monthly) and ratings volume (784 vs 18). WAVES PB's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sony LIV sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per year. WAVES PB asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sony LIV holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sony LIV has 784 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of Sony LIV's written reviews are positive against 64% of WAVES PB's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sony LIV ships an update every 6 days, WAVES PB monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
