# Provision vs 3CX

The clearest difference is monetization model: 3CX at free against Provision's subscription. Provision's advantage is rating (2.9 vs 2.6) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Provision holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 2.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 454 and 321 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Provision's written reviews are positive against 28% of 3CX's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Provision ships an update fortnightly, 3CX monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
