# Scan Halal vs MAGR

The clearest difference is rating: MAGR at 5.0 against Scan Halal's 3.8. MAGR also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3). Scan Halal's advantage is ratings volume (2.3K vs 3) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 6 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scan Halal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. MAGR asks for nothing beyond the download.

MAGR holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scan Halal has 2.3K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Scan Halal ships an update every 3 months, MAGR every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
