# NJ TRANSIT vs Transit GO Ticket

The clearest difference is rating: NJ TRANSIT at 4.8 against Transit GO Ticket's 4.5. NJ TRANSIT also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (270K vs 24K). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NJ TRANSIT holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NJ TRANSIT has 270K ratings behind it against 24K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 10% of NJ TRANSIT's written reviews are positive against 17% of Transit GO Ticket's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NJ TRANSIT ships an update every 6 weeks, Transit GO Ticket every 3 months. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
