# NJ TRANSIT vs DART Transit

The clearest difference is rating: NJ TRANSIT at 4.8 against DART Transit's 2.8. NJ TRANSIT also leads on ratings volume (270K vs 78) and chart position (#81 vs unranked). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NJ TRANSIT holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NJ TRANSIT has 270K ratings behind it against 78, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 10% of NJ TRANSIT's written reviews are positive against 16% of DART Transit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NJ TRANSIT ships an update every 6 weeks, DART Transit monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
