# Skill Levels vs ALCPT Plus

The clearest difference is monetization model: Skill Levels at free with in-app purchases against ALCPT Plus's subscription. Skill Levels also leads on ratings volume (15 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). ALCPT Plus's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Skill Levels sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and ALCPT Plus sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ALCPT Plus holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Skill Levels has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Skill Levels ships an update every 3 months, ALCPT Plus monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
