# N'Back vs Dual N

The clearest difference is ads: Dual N at none against N'Back's shown. Dual N also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 9 months) and rating (4.4 vs 4.0). N'Back's advantage is iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. N'Back sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Dual N sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dual N holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 12 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of N'Back's written reviews are positive against 67% of Dual N's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

N'Back ships an update every 9 months, Dual N every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
