# e vs Calc

The clearest difference is rating: Calc at 3.7 against e's 3.0. Calc also leads on ratings volume (3 vs 1). e's advantage is update cadence (every 5 months vs every 10 months) and iOS requirement (6.1 vs 12.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Calc holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of e's written reviews are positive against 50% of Calc's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

e ships an update every 5 months, Calc every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
