# Joist vs TRUE Go

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: TRUE Go at none against Joist's 10. TRUE Go also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Joist's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (14K vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Joist sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. TRUE Go asks for nothing beyond the download.

TRUE Go holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Joist has 14K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Joist ships an update every 2 weeks, TRUE Go every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
