# Piano eTutor vs MTE

The clearest difference is rating: MTE at 5.0 against Piano eTutor's 2.0. MTE also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (11 vs 2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Piano eTutor sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 3 months and MTE sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MTE holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MTE has 11 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Piano eTutor ships an update every 6 weeks, MTE monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
