# TVNZ+ vs CANAL+

The clearest difference is rating: CANAL+ at 3.8 against TVNZ+'s 2.0. CANAL+ also leads on review sentiment (33% vs 5%) and ratings volume (516 vs 50). TVNZ+'s advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 13) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.5). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CANAL+ sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. TVNZ+ asks for nothing beyond the download.

CANAL+ holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CANAL+ has 516 ratings behind it against 50, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 5% of TVNZ+'s written reviews are positive against 33% of CANAL+'s.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
