# Astraware CodeWords vs Escapee

The clearest difference is update cadence: Escapee at every 5 days against Astraware CodeWords's every 6 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Astraware CodeWords sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Escapee sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Astraware CodeWords ships an update every 6 weeks, Escapee every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
