# WorkTime vs Shift

The clearest difference is rating: Shift at 4.9 against WorkTime's 3.5. Shift also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 39%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). WorkTime's advantage is ratings volume (104 vs 11). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WorkTime sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Shift sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shift holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WorkTime has 104 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 39% of WorkTime's written reviews are positive against 77% of Shift's.

WorkTime ships an update every 3 weeks, Shift monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
