# Tab vs Ranked Choice Voting

The clearest difference is rating: Ranked Choice Voting at 5.0 against Tab's 4.2. Ranked Choice Voting also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks). Tab's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 3) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ranked Choice Voting holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tab has 1.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tab ships an update every 3 weeks, Ranked Choice Voting every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
