# Kickstarter vs Scribble.

The clearest difference is rating: Kickstarter at 4.8 against Scribble.'s 4.2. Kickstarter also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ratings volume (59K vs 46). Scribble.'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (67% vs 33%). On price, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scribble. sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Kickstarter asks for nothing beyond the download.

Kickstarter holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kickstarter has 59K ratings behind it against 46, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Kickstarter's written reviews are positive against 67% of Scribble.'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Kickstarter ships an update every 4 weeks, Scribble. every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
