# Kickstarter vs Hereabout App

The clearest difference is ads: Hereabout App at none against Kickstarter's shown. Hereabout App also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 4 weeks) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Kickstarter's advantage is ratings volume (59K vs 4) and chart position (#176 vs unranked). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hereabout App holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kickstarter has 59K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Kickstarter ships an update every 4 weeks, Hereabout App every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
