# Kickstarter vs Shift4 4Sight

The clearest difference is ads: Shift4 4Sight at none against Kickstarter's shown. Shift4 4Sight also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Kickstarter's advantage is ratings volume (59K vs 5) and chart position (#167 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Kickstarter against 4.8 for Shift4 4Sight. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kickstarter has 59K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Kickstarter ships an update every 4 weeks, Shift4 4Sight fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
