# Kickstarter vs Onalaska SDA

The clearest difference is ads: Onalaska SDA at none against Kickstarter's shown. Onalaska SDA also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 weeks). Kickstarter's advantage is ratings volume (59K vs 1) and chart position (#202 vs unranked). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Onalaska SDA holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kickstarter has 59K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Kickstarter ships an update every 4 weeks, Onalaska SDA every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
