# Doumbek! vs Real Kendang

The clearest difference is rating: Real Kendang at 5.0 against Doumbek!'s 4.0. Doumbek!'s advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (28 vs 4). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Doumbek! sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Real Kendang sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Real Kendang holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Doumbek! has 28 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 25% and 25% positive.

Doumbek! ships an update every 3 days, Real Kendang every 8 months. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
