# ArabCast Books vs ektab

The clearest difference is rating: ArabCast Books at 3.3 against ektab's 2.8. ArabCast Books also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). ektab's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 44%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ArabCast Books sells 23 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and ektab sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ArabCast Books holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 2.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 11 and 12 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of ArabCast Books's written reviews are positive against 60% of ektab's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ArabCast Books ships an update every 4 weeks, ektab every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
