# EZ vs Fileplay

The clearest difference is rating: Fileplay at 4.6 against EZ's 4.0. Fileplay also leads on ratings volume (4.2K vs 4). EZ's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Fileplay holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fileplay has 4.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

EZ ships an update every 2 months, Fileplay every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
