# Opensignal Speed Test Ad Free vs HINT Control

The clearest difference is review sentiment: HINT Control at 66% against Opensignal Speed Test Ad Free's 38%. Opensignal Speed Test Ad Free's advantage is ratings volume (18K vs 113) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Opensignal Speed Test Ad Free holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Opensignal Speed Test Ad Free has 18K ratings behind it against 113, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Opensignal Speed Test Ad Free's written reviews are positive against 66% of HINT Control's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Opensignal Speed Test Ad Free ships an update every 3 weeks, HINT Control every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
