# Rev vs FoxNote

Rev and FoxNote both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 53% of Rev's written reviews are positive against 29% of FoxNote's. Rev also leads on ratings volume (4.3K vs 344) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rev sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and FoxNote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Rev against 4.5 for FoxNote. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rev has 4.3K ratings behind it against 344, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 53% of Rev's written reviews are positive against 29% of FoxNote's.

Rev ships an update every 3 weeks, FoxNote fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
