# @Video vs MovieMaker

The clearest difference is rating: @Video at 4.6 against MovieMaker's 4.0. @Video also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). MovieMaker's advantage is ratings volume (876 vs 16). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. @Video sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and MovieMaker sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

@Video holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MovieMaker has 876 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of @Video's written reviews are positive against 67% of MovieMaker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
