# TG4+ vs BFBS Player

The clearest difference is rating: BFBS Player at 5.0 against TG4+'s 3.9. BFBS Player also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). TG4+'s advantage is review sentiment (53% vs 19%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BFBS Player holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TG4+ has 19 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of TG4+'s written reviews are positive against 19% of BFBS Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TG4+ ships an update every 2 months, BFBS Player every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
