# Xactimate vs KnowHow

The clearest difference is review sentiment: KnowHow at 100% against Xactimate's 50%. KnowHow also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). Xactimate's advantage is ratings volume (8.3K vs 4) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

KnowHow holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Xactimate has 8.3K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Xactimate's written reviews are positive against 100% of KnowHow's.

Xactimate ships an update fortnightly, KnowHow monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
