# Golf GPS Range Finder vs Handicap Tracker

The clearest difference is ads: Golf GPS Range Finder at none against Handicap Tracker's shown. Golf GPS Range Finder also leads on ratings volume (34K vs 213) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). Handicap Tracker's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Golf GPS Range Finder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Handicap Tracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Golf GPS Range Finder against 4.6 for Handicap Tracker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Golf GPS Range Finder has 34K ratings behind it against 213, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 80% of Golf GPS Range Finder's written reviews are positive against 73% of Handicap Tracker's.

Golf GPS Range Finder ships an update every 8 days, Handicap Tracker every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
