# Golf GPS Range Finder vs GimmieGolf

The clearest difference is update cadence: Golf GPS Range Finder at every 8 days against GimmieGolf's every 2 months. Golf GPS Range Finder also leads on ratings volume (34K vs 5). GimmieGolf's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Golf GPS Range Finder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and GimmieGolf sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GimmieGolf holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Golf GPS Range Finder has 34K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Golf GPS Range Finder ships an update every 8 days, GimmieGolf every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
