# Learn Spanish for Beginners vs Memrise

Learn Spanish for Beginners and Memrise both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 85% of Learn Spanish for Beginners's written reviews are positive against 68% of Memrise's. Memrise's advantage is chart position (#185 vs unranked) and ratings volume (218K vs 34K). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learn Spanish for Beginners sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Memrise sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Learn Spanish for Beginners against 4.8 for Memrise. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Memrise has 218K ratings behind it against 34K, so its average is the more settled of the two.
