# Virgin Media Play vs GO+

The clearest difference is ads: GO+ at none against Virgin Media Play's shown. GO+ also leads on ratings volume (169 vs 3) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Virgin Media Play's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 2.3 for Virgin Media Play against 2.3 for GO+. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GO+ has 169 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 12% of Virgin Media Play's written reviews are positive against 10% of GO+'s.

Virgin Media Play ships an update monthly, GO+ every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
