# Foldr vs FileMate

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Foldr at none against FileMate's 7. Foldr also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). FileMate's advantage is ratings volume (380 vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FileMate sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Foldr asks for nothing beyond the download.

Foldr holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FileMate has 380 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Foldr's written reviews are positive against 75% of FileMate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Foldr ships an update every 3 months, FileMate every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
